Job summary

Capco Crane & Hoist, Inc. in Rowley, MA is hiring a Crane Technician to install, inspect, maintain and repair overhead crane systems and hoists.

The role requires hands-on experience, strong safety focus, and the ability to work with customers and colleagues to ensure reliable operations. The ideal candidate has 5+ years troubleshooting cranes, experience with 3-phase motors and VFDs, and an industrial-electrical background.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years troubleshooting cranes/hoist equipment.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
• Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Associate’s degree in Industrial Electrician or Electro-Mechanical Technology preferred.
• Physically capable of working at height in extreme conditions and lifting 50–100 lbs.
• OSHA criteria inspections experience.
• Ability to work independently and with customers.
• Strong communication to inform status of jobs internally and externally.
• Safety mindful with quality and results.
• Must use own hand tools and meter.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists with quality installations.
• Perform OSHA-equivalent inspections and document warranty work and breakdowns.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service calls.
• Interface with customers and office to repair equipment.
• Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments with/without drawings.
• Maintain rapport with customers, identify solutions, and suggest improvements.
• Document service actions via forms, reports, and checklists.
• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, and organization.
• Develop knowledge of federal/state/local codes for cranes/hoists.
• Manage company equipment and vehicles.
