Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range, representing a broad spectrum of salaries across the country. The actual salary will depend on factors such as role scope, complexity, location, candidate skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other employment conditions. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentives as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

What Is the Opportunity?

Under moderate supervision, this role handles first-party property claims — investigating, evaluating, estimating, and negotiating to ensure optimal resolution for claims of moderate severity and complexity. It may also involve claims in other lines of business such as auto, workers' compensation, premium audit, or underwriting. Responsibilities include providing quality claim handling throughout the claim lifecycle, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. This position is fully remote and may include a mix of mobile work and work from your primary residence.

What Will You Do?
  • Handle first-party property claims of moderate severity and complexity.
  • Conduct field inspections, including damage assessment, photography, and estimates.
  • Utilize innovative technologies broadly.
  • Investigate and evaluate facts to determine coverage, damages, and liability, analyzing relevant documents and securing statements.
  • Establish accurate claim and expense reserves.
  • Determine settlement amounts based on estimates, valuations, and other factors.
  • Negotiate claim settlements within authority limits.
  • Draft denial letters, reservation of rights, and complex correspondence.
  • Assess damages and manage them with appropriate evaluation tools.
  • Maintain quality standards and documentation in accordance with guidelines.
  • Manage claim files to ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations where applicable.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Refer claims to specialized units when necessary.
  • Perform administrative functions as needed.
  • Assist with multi-line claim handling as required.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced professionals.
  • Participate in legal proceedings and CAT response as needed, including deployment to other states.
  • Maintain required licenses and credentials.
  • Perform physical inspections, including climbing ladders and entering tight spaces when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of estimating system Xactimate preferred.
  • At least two years of outside property claim handling experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
  • Negotiation and communication skills at an intermediate level.
  • Investigative and analytical skills at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to analyze coverage and damages effectively.
  • Valid passport preferred.
What Is a Must Have?
