Orthodontic Assistant Job Summary

Our clinic is looking for a motivated, outgoing person to join our team as an Orthodontic Assistant. We specialize in creating a friendly and safe environment for patients to receive the best in orthodontic care. You will work with our orthodontist and dental assistants, helping with diagnostic records, routine care, treatment procedures, fabricating retention appliances (Essix retainers), and using an iTero scanner. Other duties include assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling patients, following up, emailing correspondence with other dental offices, and answering phones occasionally.

Orthodontic Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist with treating malpositioned jaws and teeth
• Fit and adjust braces and archwires
• Fabricate retainers
• Operate X-ray machines, iTero scanner, intraoral cameras
• Sterilize instruments, accessories, and equipment
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Orthodontic Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Active dental assisting certification
• X-ray certification
• CPR certification
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with OrthoTrac software is a plus but not required
