Job summary

Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This full-time role requires 1–2 years OR experience, and a current RN license with BLS certification.

You will join a large OR with Neuro/ENT, General, and orthopedics, supporting patient care from pre-op to post-op. Expect 40 hours per week, 7am-3:30pm orientation schedule, possible call and weekend/holiday shifts, and 80 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• 1–2 years OR nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical nursing care in the Operating Room and support patient safety and outcomes.
• Collaborate with surgeons, residents, APPs, anesthesiologists, technologists and assistants to ensure quality care.
• Undergo comprehensive orientation including circulator role training with didactic, digital, lab, simulations, and hands-on practice.
• Be available to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts to support staffing; may be required to go on call.
• Assist in evacuation procedures during emergencies and anticipate potential adverse events.
• Assist in patient handling and lifting with equipment; move patients up to 35 pounds with assistance as needed.
