Aurora Health Care's Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI is looking for a skilled registered nurse to join the 11T Ortho Joint Surgical Med/Surg Specialty.

The role focuses on post-op orthopaedic care, joint replacement recovery, and related procedures, with strong emphasis on patient safety and excellent outcomes. Schedule is 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, days 0700-1930, with every third weekend and 50% holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• 1 year or more experience as an RN.
• RN license issued by the practicing state.
• Preferred BSN
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead and contribute to creating the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum using evidence-based practice and strong communication.

Where You Will Work:

11T is a 24 inpatient private bed Ortho Joint Surgical unit in the Garden Tower at St. Luke's Medical Center. Our highly skilled nursing team provides care to a variety of post-op ortho surgical patients: Joint replacement (knee, hip, shoulder), ENT (ear, nose, and throat),artificialairways, and spinal (non-neuro procedure). We promote growth and development of our nurses by encouraging certification in Ortho, Med-Surg, Pain, Palliative Care and Geriatrics. Shared Governance opportunities for growth in career: ACC, ADVANCE, NSI champion groups and support of professional development opportunities at a local and national level.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

• 1 year or more Experienced RN

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in nursing

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
