Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR Travel Nurse to join our Milwaukee, Wisconsin assignment. The role involves assisting physicians, circulating and/or scrub duties, and potentially RN first assistant duties in the operating room.

Expect 40 hours per week over 8-hour evening shifts for a 13-week travel assignment. Must have 1–2 years of recent acute care OR experience and current BLS/ACLS credentials with possible additional certifications required before starting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and patient education.
• Prepare instruments and assist in sterile and non-sterile tasks during procedures.
• Monitor patient during surgery and respond to potential complications.
• Administer and document prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Coordinate communication with patients' families and the operating team.
