Job summary

Boulevard Animal Hospital in Colleyville, TX is seeking an experienced or licensed veterinary technician to join our fast-paced team. This full-time role offers a competitive salary based on experience and a schedule of 4 days per week with rotating Saturdays.

You will assist veterinarians with examinations, anesthesia, surgeries, and patient care, and you will educate clients while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of veterinary experience preferred.
  • Veterinary Technician licensure or certification preferred.
  • Previous surgical and anesthesia experience.
  • Proficiency with anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Strong client education and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgical procedures, and patient care.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical areas for procedures.
  • Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia under veterinarian supervision.
  • Monitor and document anesthetic parameters and vital signs.
  • Provide perioperative nursing care and patient monitoring.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and client communications.

What our Veterinary Technicians Do

As an experienced Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an essential role in delivering exceptional patient care, particularly in our surgical and clinical workflows.

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgical procedures, and patient care
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical areas for procedures
  • Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia under veterinarian supervision
  • Monitor and accurately document anesthetic parameters and patient vital signs
  • Provide attentive perioperative nursing care and patient monitoring
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant medical information
  • Perform the clinical responsibilities of an experienced exam room technician
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding recommendations, treatments, medications, and patient care
  • Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and efficient treatment and surgical areas
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through to achieve positive outcomes

What You’ll Bring
