Best Friends Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced, patient-focused hospital. The role emphasizes emergency triage, anesthesia, surgical support, and client education, with a 3–4 day workweek and 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on veterinary hospital experience
• Licensure preferred; credentialing considered
• Experience with emergency care and patient triage
• Knowledge of preventive care and common veterinary medications
• Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and medication administration
• Surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery
• Strong diagnostic imaging and laboratory skills
• Ability to maintain clear and accurate patient records
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and assist with emergency and urgent-care cases
• Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures
• Monitor anesthesia and provide attentive care throughout recovery
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Administer and dispense medications as directed
• Perform medication and dosage calculations
• Assist with diagnostic imaging and laboratory procedures
• Provide preventive-care support and client education
• Perform CPR and assist with emergency stabilization when needed
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians and teammates to provide exceptional patient care
