Job summary

Peabody Energy’s North Antelope Rochelle Mine in Wright, Wyoming seeks an Experienced Production Technician to operate open cut equipment (drills, loaders, blades) for coal production, while upholding safety and environmental standards in a large, safe mining community.

You will inspect and service equipment, plan digging activities, train junior staff, and handle rotating shifts with potential weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience on drills, loaders or blades at a mine site is preferred.
• Problem‑solving and troubleshooting capabilities in the pit area.
• Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts and overhead shop cranes.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and at different times of day.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by business needs.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime when required.
• High School Degree or GED equivalent (required).

Responsibilities

• Operate open cut mine equipment to facilitate the production of coal.
• Inspect and service equipment.
• Plan digging activities to ensure optimal coal recovery.
• Dig coal and waste to ensure optimal recovery.
• Train junior production employees.
• Pre‑start inspection of equipment and work environment.
• Collect waste and tipping at correct location.
• Monitor the control panel to identify and correct malfunctions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
