Job summary

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair is seeking an experienced Mobile Trailer Mechanic to diagnose and repair semi-trailer systems on a mobile service truck in Ottawa, IL. The role requires strong diagnostic skills and customer-focused service on tight schedules.

Work Monday–Friday during daytime hours with pay at $25–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits include quarterly safety bonuses after 90 days, paid holidays and vacations, and a 401(k) after one year.

Qualifications

• Experience as mobile trailer mechanic or diesel mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for semi-trailers.
• Safety-minded with good customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose all trailer systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components.
• Perform preventative maintenance on trailers and parts including ABS, frame, body, doors, tires and electrical systems.
• Independently motivated professional dedicated to providing top-notch service.
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers.
• Operate the mobile Service Truck safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety requirements while servicing trailers and while driving the Service Truck.

A successful candidate for this position must be an experienced Mobile Trailer Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic, with a strong understanding of semi-trailer diagnostics and repair. Someone who is self-motivated, safety-minded, and is able to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.
