Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Equipment Engineer to join a team focused on establishing and maintaining world-class inspection and measurement equipment, implementing yield enhancement, and solving complex problems to improve processing quality.

The role involves monitoring equipment, qualifying new devices, coordinating qualifications and downtime, and using data analysis to drive decisions. Applicants must relocate to Austin, TX and have relevant engineering or science degrees.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
  • 2+ years semiconductor experience (Metrology equipment experience preferred).
  • Experience Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures.
  • Exposure to Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc.).
  • Understanding of statistical methods.
  • Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language preferred.
  • Experience with Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.) preferred.
  • Good Presentation and Technical Writing skills.
  • Understanding of Change Point Management, and of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
  • Ability to wear clean room suit and PPE per the SAS FAB protocol and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Willing to relocate to Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.

Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
