Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a seasoned professional for the Innovation Equipment team to manage equipment performance and factory metrics across cross-functional groups. The role requires deep knowledge of semiconductor equipment operation and data analysis to drive improvements.

You will lead cross-functional projects, apply Lean/Six Sigma methods, and translate complex data into actionable steps in collaboration with vendors and OEMs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering (or related).
  • 5+ years experience in semiconductor industry with equipment operations.
  • 3+ years in a project/program management role with Lean/Six Sigma background.
  • Green/Black Belt Lean Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage fab-wide equipment engineering improvement projects across cross-functional teams and business units.
  • Lead Lean activities including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), process mapping, and AIW.
  • Analyze equipment gap-to-goal and drive initiatives to meet performance metrics.
  • Prepare staff/executive level presentations, proposals and status reports for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate expert understanding of semiconductor equipment and adapt goals as priorities shift.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to reduce inefficiencies using data analysis and Lean methodologies.
  • Work with equipment analytics and solutions team to interpret data and develop cross-functional solutions.

Position Summary

As a member of the Innovation Equipment team, this person will be responsible for managing equipment performance and factory metrics in collaboration with Fab Engineering teams. The position will require strong knowledge of semiconductor equipment operation and maintenance, in order to analyze equipment data, develop solutions, and ensure actions are implemented. Additionally, this role will need to exhibit strong communication skills in order to lead cross-functional teams internally to Samsung and externally with equipment vendors and OEMs.

Role And Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
  • Manage fab wide equipment engineering improvement projects across cross-functional teams and business units.
  • Lead Lean activities to include Value Stream Mapping (VSM), process mapping, and AIW.
  • Work with fab engineering teams to analyze equipment gap-to-goal and drive initiatives to meet performance metrics.
  • Staff/Executive level presentations, proposals and status reports to drive continuous improvement process.
  • Possess expert understanding of semiconductor equipment and should be capable of shifting focus of individual goals when priorities change.
  • Work with multiple engineering teams to reduce inefficiencies using data analysis and lean methodology.
  • Work with equipment analytics and solutions team to interpret data to develop and implement novel solutions for cross functional teams.
Skills And Qualifications
Here’s what you'll need:
  • B.S. in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering preferred. Other engineering/manufacturing degrees accepted.
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in Semiconductor industry required. Knowledge in theory of operations and equipment maintenance preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Project or Program Manager position with a background in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • Green/Black Belt Lean Certification preferred.

  • Teamwork: Fosters cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables. Participates and encourages transparent information sharing amongst team members.

  • Data analysis and visualization skills in TIBCO Spotfire, JMP, or similar software.
  • Programming experience in Python, SQL, HTML is a plus
  • Full Stack development and cloud computing experience is a plus.
Total Rewards

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package. The base compensation for this role will depend on education, experience, skills, and location.
