Job summary

Atrium Health's Mint Hill Family Medicine practice is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support patient care in a busy clinic. The role operates M-F, 8:15 am – 5:15 pm, with duties including vitals, history taking, screenings, and assisting with procedures.

The successful candidate will have a Medical Assistant program completion (or equivalent) and basic life support certification, and will work closely with providers to ensure accurate documentation, patient safety, and timely care

Qualifications

• Must have a Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent military training per state requirements.
• Two years of clinical Medical Assistant experience preferred as per department standards.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required based on division policy.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows all policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, medical history, screenings, and medication review.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties, including venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Administers medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Manages patient messages, referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations.
