On-site role with a salary range of $115k–$150k per year, DOE. You will own the complete lifecycle of IR/E-O hardware, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, and help deliver high-performance optical test systems for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency with CAD and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-ups.
• Experience owning designs through full lifecycle, high-complexity, low-volume manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently and in collaborative teams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete lifecycle of IR and E-O hardware including design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and precision optical mounts/mechanisms.
• Create hardware designs for high-mix, low-volume production (CNC, sheet metal, AM) while meeting budgets and schedules.
• Partner with project managers, system engineers, vendors, and production staff to support manufacturing and implement improvements.
• Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and ICDs.
