Job summary

Jungle Jim’s Meat Department is hiring a Meat Cutter to join a busy, customer-facing team. You’ll meet hundreds of diverse customers daily and help prepare and present high-quality, globally sourced meat.

We’re seeking candidates with strong knowledge of beef and pork cuts, excellent knife skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Full-time employment includes benefits and room for growth in a growing company.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years meat cutting experience.
• Proficiency cutting meat with a bandsaw and above-average knife skills.
• Extensive knowledge of all cuts of beef and pork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times.
• Engage with customers to make them feel welcome and excited about our products and services.
• Fulfill customer orders and requests in a timely, efficient and cheerful manner.
• Use a variety of cutting tools safely and correctly.
• Operate equipment including but not limited to slicers, grinders, and saws safely and correctly.
• Ensure quality, freshness, and safety of meat at all times.
• Process and prepare a variety of meat to specifications with minimal waste.
• Unload, sort and process deliveries.
• Stock, rotate, and maintain existing product displays.
• Build and dismantle product displays as required.Check in deliveries and inspect for quality, completeness, and document accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Employee Discount: 10% at 60 days, 20% at two years
• Paid vacation time starting at six months (Full-Time only)

Requirements

• Minimum three years meat cutting experience.
• Must have proficiency cutting meat with a bandsaw and above-average knife skills.
• Extensive knowledge of all cuts of beef and pork.
• Work environment includes continuous interaction with customers and co‑workers in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of perishables, product rotation, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, squat, and climb for up to 8 - 10 consecutive hours.
• Lifting, moving and carrying up to 100lbs.
• Daily duties may include extended periods in a refrigerated work environment.
• Schedule may entail evenings, weekends, and holidays.
