About The Position

This full-time Maintenance Mechanic position at Frito-Lay involves troubleshooting, repairing, and installing pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, and various types of pumps. The role requires expertise in AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics, and using electrical testing equipment. Maintenance Mechanics are expected to have a deep understanding of high-voltage wiring and multi-craft maintenance, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

1. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, and pumps.
2. Repair AC/DC electrical systems and read schematics.
3. Use electrical testing equipment such as Volt-Ohm meters and oscilloscopes.
4. Assist entry-level mechanics with difficult repairs.
5. Respond to maintenance calls and complete repairs as needed.
6. Inspect machines and develop repair lists for short-term and long-term repairs.
7. Work from task lists to diagnose machines and take corrective actions.
8. Ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.

Requirements

1. Extensive knowledge of high-voltage wiring (480V 3-phase motors).
2. Experience in multi-craft maintenance and repair.
3. Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
4. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation.
5. Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation.
6. Electrical certification or technical school training in mechanical maintenance repair.

Nice-to-haves

• Welding experience.
• At least two years of training experience in mechanical/electrical repair in a manufacturing environment.
