Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP in Indianapolis is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys with case management throughout the litigation process. This role primarily serves the Product, Tort and Insurance Litigation Practice Group, assisting with research, document preparation, and discovery.

• Minimum five years of experience supporting litigation matters.
• Strong research skills.
• Extremely accurate and detailed in paperwork.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with set goals and achieve them.
• Capable of analyzing situations and solving problems effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Proficient computer skills using MS Office applications.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, legal codes, etc.
• Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, etc. for review, approval, and use by attorneys.
• Investigate facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly.
• Assist with the collection, review, summarization, and organization of electronic and paper discovery materials.
• Prepare trial binders and other materials for case preparation.
• File pleadings with court clerk personally and electronically.
• Prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document files.
• Deliver or direct delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action.
• Maintain accurate and organized client files, including electronic records.
• Accurately record time worked and enter time and description into time and billing system.
