Job summary

A dynamic legal services firm in Clayton, Missouri is seeking an experienced Paralegal to assist attorneys in civil litigation. This position requires excellent organizational skills and knowledge of legal research tools. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate and five years of litigation experience. Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists attorneys in all stages of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Organizes and maintains case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
  • Assists in trial preparation by compiling exhibits, preparing witness lists, and coordinating with court personnel.
  • Communicates with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials professionally and efficiently.
  • Manages deadlines for filings, responses, and court appearances, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
  • Records billable hours accurately and assists with preparing invoices for clients.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Five or more years of experience as a paralegal in litigation.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
  • Experience with eDiscovery software such as Nextpoint and Relativity.
  • Experience with trial presentation software such as OnCue.
  • Prior in-courtroom trial experience.
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on new tasks as they arise.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to structure complex projects efficiently and set/adjust priorities effectively; superior attention to detail; excellent judgement and use of discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work individually on a project and on multiple projects concurrently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
