Job summary

Harmony Housing Affordable Development (HHAD) is seeking an experienced Underwriter to manage the financial aspects of affordable housing projects. The role interfaces with lenders, investors, and government entities, providing rigorous analyses and accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate has strong financial modeling skills, LIHTC knowledge, and experience with tax-exempt bonds and FHA programs. This position reports to the Director of Finance and is based in our Raleigh, North Carolina office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of progressive real estate finance/LIHTC experience.
• Strong financial modeling and data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting, financing, and closing of multifamily development projects.
• Prepare and maintain detailed financial models and analysis for leadership and partners.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to advance development opportunities.
• Interface with lenders, investors, and government agencies on financing terms.
• Monitor budgets and ensure timely financial milestones.
