Job summary

Lake Butler Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable HIM Medical Coder to join their team as a full-time role. Initial on-site duties may transition to remote work after demonstrating proficiency in facility specifics.

Responsibilities include assigning CPT codes, ensuring proper documentation for charge capture, and staying current with coding guidelines. ICD-10-CM, ICD-9/CPT-4 expertise and experience with Rural Health Clinics are required.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include high school diploma and coding certifications.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient and outpatient medical coding experience.
• Proficient in ICD-9/CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding sets.
• Experience with Rural Health Clinics preferred.
• Strong MS Office and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate CPT codes from medical records for billing purposes.
• Ensure proper documentation for charge capture and stay current with industry guidelines.
• Review, resolve and prevent coding denials.
