Job summary

You will troubleshoot and service HVAC systems, perform preventive maintenance, test electrical circuits, inspect for leaks, install thermostats, and ensure compliance with plans and specs. Must have valid SC driver's license, pass drug testing, and be able to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of HVAC experience.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license required.
• New Employee and Random drug testing required.
• Proficient in PC-based computer systems and tablet/smartphone technology.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds occasionally; stairs and ladders.

What you will do

Perform troubleshooting and service operations on various HVAC systems to diagnose problems or possible issues and perform preventative maintenance to customers’ HVAC systems to include:

• Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
• Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
• Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source, to form complete circuit.
• Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
• Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.
• Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers, using hand tools.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Ability to identify basic trade materials by size, shape and function.
• Able to safely use small power tools and hand tools.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.

Education and Key Requirements

• Ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of HVAC experience.
• Acceptable driving record and valid South Carolina Driving License
• New Employee and Random drug testing required.
• Proficient in PC based computer systems and tablet/smart phone technology.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
• Perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools.
• Ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly; independently safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds routinely, 50 pounds frequently, and 80 pounds occasionally; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffold. New Employee Fit for Duty physical required.
