Job summary

Drew University seeks a Journeyman HVAC Technician in the Facilities Department. This is a full-time, 40-hour week position. The ideal candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential HVAC systems across campus.

The role involves working with electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration codes, and coordinating with other trades. Responsibilities include servicing HVAC equipment, calibrating controls, maintaining CRAC units in data centers, and completing

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
5–10 years of experience in the commercial HVAC industry.
New Jersey Black Seal low-pressure boiler operator license.
Obtain a New Jersey Underground Storage Tank Operator Certification within 6 months of employment.
EPA CFC Universal refrigerant handling certification.
Valid U.S. driver\'s license; able to operate a vehicle.
Strong written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Installs, inspects, tests, operates, and repairs all HVAC and ancillary system equipment.
Checks, services, cleans, and replaces filters and belts on all HVAC units; documents maintenance and service history.
Replaces and aligns HVAC system motors, pumps, and bearings.
Cleans, maintains, and replaces heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and exhaust grills and ductwork.
Rebuilds pumps; replaces valves, actuators, contactors, relays, dampers, transformers, motors, and pulleys.
Performs steam trap troubleshooting and replacement.
