Position Overview:
The experienced HVAC Technician will service, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units/equipment for commercial customers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the commercial HVAC industry and is motivated to do quality work and further their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment at commercial buildings.
- Wire low voltage to cooling and heating equipment.
- Install refrigerant lines to AC units, including copper brazing, soldering, and pressing.
- Ensure proper connection of gas lines to heating equipment.
- Pre-measure jobs to determine the right materials needed for installation.
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of HVAC systems.
- Diagnose service issues, obtain replacement parts, and calibrate systems.
- Maintain and submit service call or start-up reports for new or replaced units.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training for HVAC Apprentices and Helpers.
- Participate in company-provided training on the latest industry technologies.
- Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business, such as newer systems, service contracts, and additional services.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolving diverse HVAC issues.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to read blueprints, plans, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Having one or more of the following licenses is highly desirable:
- New Hampshire State Gas License
- Massachusetts Sheet Metal License
- Massachusetts Refrigeration License
- EPA & OSHA certifications.
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and work from heights.
