Job summary

Thompson-Arthur Paving and Construction in Greensboro, NC, is seeking an Equipment Operator to handle a range of groundwork and paving machines. You will ensure proper material flow, assist with grades and drainage, and maintain equipment while working closely with a safety-conscious crew.

Responsibilities include operating rollers, pavers, graders, and related machinery, following job specifications, and coordinating with trucks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience and/or training in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of road construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine.
• Understand paving industry aspects including grades, drainage, patterns, and compaction.
• Operate paving machines to feed material and maintain flow into hoppers.
• Maintain equipment in good working order and report issues to supervisor.
• Coordinate truck dumping and assist with setting up equipment.
