Job Description

Associate Scientist II



SUMMARY


Responsible for providing or overseeing the analysis, administration and oversight of varied chemistry policies, programs and practices; provides feedback and guidance to regarding the analysis of materials, products and/or devices utilizing using intermediate to complex professional and technical knowledge of chemistry or related instrumentation, testing, and procedures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • GMP testing of pharmaceutical products including sample preparation and analysis

  • Peer review of data

  • Operate and basic trouble shooting of instrumentation such as HPLC, Dissolution, Karl-Fischer Titration, UV- Vis spectrophotometer, and other instruments as needed

  • Data analysis and trending for stability studies

  • Participate in internal quality events such as investigations and deviations

  • Chromatography data processing and interpretation using software such as Empower

  • General laboratory maintenance and up keep including proper hazardous waste disposal and restocking of consumables.

  • Working on individual tasks as part of a larger team.

  • Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry/biochemistry, or a closely related field.

  • Two (2) years of chemistry experience, including experience with complex programs or operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.



Required Knowledge and Skills



  • GMP experience, Required

  • ALCOA principles, Required

  • Empower 3 experience, Preferred

  • Pharma experience, Required

  • Ok working in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Good time management and multitasking skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Well versed in MS Office

  • MasterControl experience, Preferred

  • Good understanding of statistics, Preferred

  • Root Cause analysis experience, Preferred
