Job summary

DEPCO Power Systems is seeking Generator Technicians at multiple experience levels to diagnose, maintain, repair, and test diesel and natural gas generators and related power generation equipment. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and offers opportunities to advance a career in power generation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of power generation and electrical distribution systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • 3+ years of commercial generator or military power generation experience preferred.
  • Relevant military power generation experience may substitute for industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and component replacements on diesel and natural gas generators.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, engine, generator control, and AC/DC control system issues.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical wiring repairs and modifications.
  • Use multimeters, ammeters, meg-ohmmeters, load banks, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct load bank, performance, and operational testing.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service documentation.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes.
  • Work with electrical distribution components, including breakers, transformers, and relay settings.
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, testing, diagnoses, and parts used.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers regarding equipment status and repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety requirements.
  • This position will work in shop and outdoor environments. Candidates must be able to perform physical activities associated with generator service, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and handling equipment and components.

DEPCO Power Systems is seeking Generator Technicians at multiple experience levels to diagnose, maintain, repair, and test diesel and natural gas generators and related power generation equipment. This is a hands-on technical position for individuals with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who are interested in developing or advancing their careers in power generation.

Location: Houston, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and component replacements on diesel and natural gas generators.
