Job summary

Q-Lab Corporation is seeking an Experienced General Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Westlake, Ohio. You will complete assembly of electrical and mechanical components, ensuring everything aligns with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Precision and close tolerance adjustments are essential. You will work on sub- and final-assembly processes, use power tools and assembly machinery, and apply Lean Manufacturing practices to maintain an organized and safe

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years electro-mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Use of mechanical, electrical, and measuring tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities and improve processes.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Complete assembly of electrical and mechanical components per drawings and specs.
• Assemble intricate units with close tolerances and inspection standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform sub-assembly and final assembly tasks including routing and using tools.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing practices (5S) to maintain organized, safe workspaces.
• Prioritize safety and quality while meeting production deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking an Experienced General Assembler. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this role will be responsible for completing assembly of electrical and mechanical components, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and parts lists. This position will prepare and assemble intricate units composed of numerous components, requiring precision adjustments, alignment to close tolerances, and compliance with inspection standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete assembly of electrical and mechanical components, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and parts lists
• Prepare and assemble intricate units composed of numerous components, requiring precision adjustments, alignment to close tolerances, and compliance with inspection standards
• Exhibit strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the quality and reliability of assembled products
• Demonstrate expertise in sub-assembly and final assembly processes, including tube and hose routing, wire harness routing, and the use of assembly machinery and power tools
• Apply Lean Manufacturing practices, including 5S methodologies, to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe workspace
• Prioritize safety and quality while maintaining high levels of productivity and meeting production deadlines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide assistance in other areas of manufacturing as needed to support operational goals

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 5+ years of previous electro-mechanical assembly experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documents
• Working knowledge of and ability to use mechanical, electrical, and measuring tools
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team setting
• Ability and disposition to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 25 pounds

Desired Skills

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform tasks efficiently and accurately while consistently delivering high-quality results
• Experience with testing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems
• Applicants with prior experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, HVAC technician, maintenance technician, or similar hands-on mechanical trade are encouraged to apply
