Job summary

Q-Lab Corporation is seeking an Experienced Electrical Assembler to join our Westlake, Ohio facility. You will complete wire harness assembly, accurately cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating wires using hand tools and semi-automated machines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly in manufacturing preferred.
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wire harnesses, cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating wires with hand tools and semi-automated equipment.
  • Assemble and install electrical connectors, lugs, ferrules, and terminals per schematics and drawings.
  • Perform precision soldering of wires, terminals, and small components.
  • Test harnesses and sub-assemblies for continuity and function per specifications.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams and assembly drawings and follow work instructions.

Description

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking an Experienced Electrical Assembler. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this role will be responsible for completing assembly of wire harnesses by accurately cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating wires using hand tools and semi-automated machines.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assembly of wire harnesses by accurately cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating wires using hand tools and semi-automated machines
  • Assemble and install electrical connectors, lugs, ferrules, and terminals per schematics and detailed drawings
  • Perform precision soldering of wires, terminals, and small electronic components
  • Conduct continuity and functional testing of harnesses and sub-assemblies to ensure adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Interpret and follow complex wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, work instructions, and the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard
  • Inspect finished assemblies for quality and adherence to workmanship criteria, identifying and correcting defects
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the quality and reliability of assembled products
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing practices, including 5S methodologies, to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe workspace
  • Prioritize safety and quality while maintaining high levels of productivity and meeting production deadlines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide assistance in other areas of manufacturing as needed to support operational goals
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5+ years of previous electro-mechanical assembly experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documents
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use mechanical, electrical, and measuring tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team setting
  • Ability and disposition to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desired Skills
  • Associate's degree in a related field
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems
  • IPC certification
  • Applicants with prior experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, HVAC technician, maintenance technician, or similar hands-on mechanical trade are encouraged to apply
