Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sprinkler Service Technician V to respond to service calls, diagnose issues, and perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential applications.   • 3–5 years of documented experience in the fire sprinkler service industry performing service and repair on sprinkler and suppression systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and review the reported equipment or system malfunction.
  • Contact the customer representative, assess the issue, and determine the next steps for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.
  • Work on wet systems, including steel, copper, and CPVC, as well as dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump systems.
  • Use technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices to support accurate diagnosis and repair.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Provide a high level of customer service while maintaining strong organization, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Work independently when needed and maintain a safe, professional presence in the field.

Role Overview

As a Sprinkler Service Technician V, you will respond to service calls, diagnose equipment and system issues, and perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential applications. This role is focused on delivering dependable field service, accurate troubleshooting, and safe, high-quality repairs across wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and review the reported equipment or system malfunction.

  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

How You Will Do It
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting proceduresand use technical references to identify issues efficiently and complete repairs accurately.
  • Read and interpret technical documents with precisionso work is completed to specification and systems are restored correctly.
  • Stay close to the work and the customerby communicating clearly, responding thoughtfully, and removing obstacles that affect service quality.
  • Improve every day through practical problem-solving, taking a clear and candid approach to finding the right fix and learning from each service visit.
  • Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrityby following procedures, maintaining truck inventory, and delivering reliable results in the field.
  • Win as one teamby working cooperatively with customer contacts and internal support when coordination is needed, even while operating independently on site.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of documented experience in the fire sprinkler service industry performing service and repair on sprinkler and suppression systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Valid driverషs license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, and similar spaces.
  • Ability to follow, read, and understand all safety requirements of the company and the customer.
  • Ability to work alone when needed.
Nice to Have
  • NICET Level II certification.
  • Backflow certification.
  • Experience with 5-year inspections.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29.00-40.60 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
