Job summary

State Fire is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our Elko, NV team. The role focuses on installing, servicing, and maintaining fire alarm systems and related safety networks for a growing regional client base.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fire alarm or low-voltage, NICET I+ certification preferred, and a strong work ethic with attention to detail. The position involves field work, safety compliance, and some travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in fire alarm or low-voltage systems preferred.
  • NICET Level I or higher certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain any required state licensure within 90 days.
  • Proficiency with standard and trade-specific tools and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, service, and maintain a variety of fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair systems, including emergency or warranty calls.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and testing per NFPA and local standards.
  • Coordinate work with project managers, property managers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow safety and compliance protocols.
  • Occasionally travel to other regions based on project needs.
