Job Description
Responsible for performing service calls including, but not limited to, the installation of DynaNet, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. The Fire Alarm Lead Service Technician is responsible for installing and servicing the systems efficiently and effectively to ensure minimal downtime and maximum performance. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set by DynaFire, Inc., while maintaining a professional and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Respond promptly to customer service issues and effectively communicate with customers, demonstrating patience when necessary.
- Communicate needs clearly to all parties involved to ensure the timely completion of DynaFire's scope of work.
- Assist sales and estimating staff with information to facilitate additional sales, change orders, and DynaNet sales.
- Handle mobilization, wiring, device trimming, final hookup, troubleshooting, testing, and final inspection of fire alarm equipment for new installations.
- Operate, test, troubleshoot, and program fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Program fire alarm panels using hand tools and computer software commonly used by DynaFire.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the engineering department to produce accurate documentation.
- Handle warranty service calls as needed.
- Train and instruct crew members and peers, as well as customers, on equipment use.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
- Operate test equipment such as volt meters, ohm meters, oscilloscopes, multimeters, tone generators, and battery testers.
- Maintain and update necessary tools, recommending labor-saving devices as appropriate.
- Use construction tools including ladders, lifts, hand tools, power tools, and fastening systems effectively.
- Maintain a good driving record and professional appearance.
- Comply with all safety protocols of DynaFire and the customer.
- Pursue position-specific training opportunities and obtain NICET Level II certification within one year.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance knowledge and assist in training others.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain and properly care for a company laptop and ensure reports are accurately updated and maintained.
Training and Certification Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fire service.
- Proficiency with fire alarm devices, alarm panels, burglar alarm systems, and troubleshooting skills.
- NICET Level II Fire Alarm certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with DynaFire hardware and software tools.
