Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Experienced RN for Adult Emergency Department Observation on nights. The position may be filled as RN I, II, or III depending on experience and qualifications.

As an RN I–III, you will provide high-quality patient care, document responses, assist physicians, monitor patients, administer meds, and manage IV infusions while upholding OU Health values and professional standards. Relocation and sign-on benefits may apply.

Qualifications

• Education: RN I requires an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: RN I 0–3 years; RN II 3–5 years; RN III 5+ years.
• Licensure: Current RN license and BLS certification at hire.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and note changes in orders.
• Assists physician in examination and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Resolves patient complaints in collaboration with staff and policy.
• Informs patient/family of procedures and plans at care and discharge.
• Fosters mentorship and maintains licensure and ongoing development.
• Develops a professional career plan aligned with enterprise metrics.
• Supports an inclusive workforce and maximizes diversity.
• Delegates tasks to clinical support staff as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
