Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to help optimize process equipment and improve yield across our advanced semiconductor operations. The role focuses on reliable tool performance and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• 5+ years direct Etch semiconductor experience in high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on etch tools following standard procedures.
• Respond to tool faults/interlocks and assist wafer recovery with proper documentation.
• Coordinate with Shift Supervisor to ensure PM coverage for priority tools.
• Resolve unplanned equipment issues and update relevant documentation.
• Provide support for new equipment introductions and SOP updates.
• Monitor abnormal equipment signals and ensure tool uptime and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering to implement improvements reducing costs and increasing throughput.

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced technician interested in working alongside a talented team of professionals with a key focus on establishing and maintaining world-class process/equipment optimization and yield enhancement as a competitive advantage.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, following standard procedures and check sheets where applicable.
• Respond to tool faults / interlocks and assist in wafer recovery, including documentation and communication to process team members to ensure material is measured and dispositioned correctly.
• Work with Shift Supervisor to ensure priority tools are addressed and PM scheduling is adequately covered.
• Resolve unplanned equipment issues and update necessary documentation.
• Provide support for new equipment introductions.
• Monitor and respond to abnormal equipment signals.
• Correct and generate SOPs when required.
• Work with engineering staff on the following:
  • Uptime and performance improvements.
  • Evaluating and implementing creative solutions which improve performance and reduce cost.
  • Updating maintenance procedures and training other equipment technicians on shifts to perform PMs per the procedures.
  • Increasing overall tool availability.
  • Improving throughput by reducing speed loss associated with equipment performance.
  • Reducing wet clean downtime.

Work hours: C Shift - Thursday through Saturday (6:45am - 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Two year technical degree, equivalent military experience.
• 5+ years direct applicable Etch semiconductor experience in high volume manufacturing environment is highly desired.

The current base salary range for this role is between $26.00 - $33.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
