Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, Arizona office is seeking an Experienced Electrical Analyst with 3+ years to join our Power Delivery team. The role focuses on design and analysis of electrical systems for renewables, storage, and substations, and on developing design documents and reports.

You will collaborate across Kimley-Horn offices, prepare specifications and cost estimates, and contribute to growing the Power Delivery practice while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of design experience in electrical engineering, specifically in substation design.

Responsibilities

• Development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams.

• Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country.
• Mentor, train, and grow a team to expand our Power Delivery practice.
• Develop reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.

• Expected to assist in mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand our Power Delivery practice
• Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of design experience in electrical engineering specifically in substation design.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)
• Holds Engineer-In-Training (EIT), Engineer Intern (EI), or the ability to obtain within 6 months
• Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes
• Understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes
• Proficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)
• Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus
• Power Analyses (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, device coordination) in SKM or ETAP
• Electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design experience
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively - The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
