Vanguard Truck Centers LLC is seeking Diesel Technicians to diagnose, repair, and test diesel trucks and equipment in our dealership service centers. You will collaborate with parts and service advisors to complete repairs efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience, basic mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver’s license, with CDL eligibility a plus. We offer robust benefits and training opportunities in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude required.
• 1-2 years experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; ability to obtain CDL.
• High school diploma or vocational/technical schooling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs on diesel trucks or equipment.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Documents all work performed on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
• Supervises apprentices diesel technicians as assigned.
• Keeps shop area neat and safe and ensures tools are accounted for.

Our unique footprint allows us to provide a diverse range of products and services across many industries, and across the country.RESPONSIBILITIES for Diesel TechniciansDiesel Technicians performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair on diesel Trucks or equipment.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.Diesel Technician will documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.Diesel Technician will participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.Supervises work of any apprentice diesel technicians as assigned.Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.Ensures that customers' vehicles are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.Keeps shop area neat and clean for your safety and safety of other diesel technicians.Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
