Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Diesel Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This position performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy‑duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing heavy‑duty truck equipment, documenting troubleshooting steps, maintaining a clean work area, and coordinating with the Service Foreman. CDL Class A is required or obtainable, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Trade school or college degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Motor Vehicle Record adheres to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Follow safety rules and company policies always.
• Communicate to Service Foreman regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
• Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
• Record in detail the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
• Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box and turn in to correct location. Labels the box with repair order number, S/N, customer name and date.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Clean and return tools used.
• Advise the following shift's technicians with any special instructions or concerns you found when repairing truck.
• Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set forth by Service Manager.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
• Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
• Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma

Trade school certificate/degree preferred

Class A CDL (or ability to obtain)

Experience in related field preferred
