Job summary

Shoppa's + John Deere in Kentucky is seeking a skilled service technician to perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned equipment. The role requires quick learning, self-motivation, and teamwork; in-field work with the service truck may be required.

You'll repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, identify additional repairs, and keep up-to-date with John Deere products.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience performing machine service repairs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to read Technical Manuals.
• Ability to use basic computer functions.

• Completes repairs of equipment correctly and efficiently
• Identifies additional repairs needed to ensure customer satisfaction

• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Accounts for all time and for all material used in performing assigned duties

Job description

Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. Position requires candidate to be a quick learner, self-starter, and team player. Position may require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians. Position may require in field work with use of company service truck. Positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential to success.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

• 2+ years of experience performing machine service repairs


• Agricultural equipment repair experience not required


• Material handling, construction, auto, and other equipment/vehicle repair technicians are encouraged to apply


• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures


• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of equipment


• Ability to use basic computer functions


• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes


• Proficient oral and written communication skills


• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly


• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred


• Valid drivers license is required
