Cook for Beautiful SNF in Springfield, MO

We are a 146-bed facility with a home-like environment and a new 30-bed rehab wing! We have received the CMS 5-star rating for the past several years.

Position: Cook MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AS A COOK IN A LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY

Join our Food Nutrition Service Team! NHC fosters teamwork and offers opportunities in a culinary healthcare setting. The Dietary Cook performs duties to maintain high standards of food preparation, production, service, and portion control, using standardized recipes for all customers.

Position Highlights:
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, ensuring quality and minimizing waste. Properly date, label, and store items using proper food handling techniques.
  • Review menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets before preparing meals; prepare and serve diets accurately and attractively, following proper portions and diet specifications.
  • Follow standardized recipes and special diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities to meet service requirements.
  • Test and taste foods of all consistencies for appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature; make adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinate meal and snack preparation timing to meet service schedules, ensuring timely delivery to patients and customers.
  • Check trays for diet accuracy, preferences, and quality before delivery. Serve on tray line and deliver carts to floors as needed.
