Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah is seeking an Experienced Cook to support daily kitchen operations at 20th Hole, preparing, cooking, and plating menu items to established standards. This role is designed for cooks with intermediate to advanced experience who can work independently and take ownership of their station.

Placement as Cook II or Cook I will be based on experience. Night shifts, year-round full-time, pay rate $18.00–$22.00/hour.

Qualifications

• 2–6+ years of professional kitchen experience in upscale hotels or resort dining.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
• Capable of performing service independently and owning a station.
• Experience working multiple stations and supporting service flow.
• Attention to cleanliness, detail, and consistency.
• Team-oriented with clear, effective communication.
• Culinary school or formal training preferred but not required.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
• Independently manage assigned stations during service based on experience level.
• Execute intermediate to advanced cooking techniques consistently and efficiently.
• Complete daily prep, station setup, and breakdown.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Support service execution during peak periods and assist other stations as needed.
• Follow FIFO, labeling, storage, and food safety procedures.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and proper storage of food products.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and team members.
• Identify and report equipment issues, shortages, or safety concerns.
• Support training and mentoring of less-experienced cooks as appropriate.
• Uphold Black Desert Resort's ultra-premium culinary and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Experienced Cook supports daily kitchen operations at 20th Hole by preparing, cooking, and plating menu items to established standards. This role is designed for cooks with intermediate to advanced experience who can execute service independently, maintain station ownership, and contribute to a high-performing culinary team in a fast-paced, ultra-premium resort environment. Placement as Cook II or Cook I will be based on experience, demonstrated skill, and leadership capability.

Job Specifications

Onsite: Black Desert Resort - 20th HoleShift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time (Night Shift)

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hour. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including experience and skill level.
