Job summary

Fairlane Senior Care & Rehab in Detroit, MI is seeking an Experienced Cook to join our award-winning team. You will prepare nourishing meals for residents, work with the Dietary Director, and ensure sanitary and portion-control standards are met.

Rotating weekends and some holidays required; both full-time and part-time positions available. Starting wages include $17.00 per hour with Hero Pay and a NEW rate of $17.85 per hour, plus yearly wage increases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other medical facility; LTC experience desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering Excellent, Passionate, Innovative care.
• Team player, dedicated to supporting teammates and getting the job done.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate food production to coincide with meal serving times, ensuring quality, temperature, and appearance.
• Assist with tray line setup and plate assembly.
• Assist with daily kitchen cleaning.
• Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in interactions with guests, families, and visitors.

Our cooks prepare amazing and nourishing meals for our residents and ensure the highest quality standards of foodservice and the best culinary experience is provided at all times. They work closely with the Dietary Director to create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure the meals are prepared in accordance with established portion control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies and procedures.

You will earn: $17.85 per hour - NEW RATE!

We can work with your scheduling needs:

• All positions include rotating weekends and some holidays

What you will need to be part of ourEPICteam:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with strong knowledge of food procedures. Experience in a Long Term Care facility is highly desirable.
