Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Commercial Flooring Estimator to join our team and deliver accurate, competitive estimates for commercial flooring projects. The role requires reading plans, evaluating bids, and coordinating with contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure successful submissions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial flooring estimating experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial flooring products and installation methods.
• Proven ability to perform accurate material and labor takeoffs.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
• Understanding of flooring installation methods and labor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for commercial flooring projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, finish schedules, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed flooring takeoffs for labor, materials, and installation requirements.
• Analyze project scopes and identify risks and clarifications.
• Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop competitive pricing while maintaining margins.
• Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors to clarify requirements.
• Issue RFIs for incomplete or conflicting plans.
• Track bid deadlines and manage multiple estimates.
• Incorporate addenda changes into estimates before bid submission.
• Assist sales and project-management teams with budgets and change-order pricing.
• Maintain organized records of estimates and quotes.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and project turnovers.
