Job summary

Major Tool & Machine in Indianapolis seeks an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to program, set up, and machine complex precision components on large CNC equipment, reading blueprints and GD&T to ensure first‑article accuracy.

You will select tooling, fixtures and workholding, adjust feeds and speeds, perform probing, and collaborate with engineers and machinists on high‑value projects in a zero‑premium health‑insurance facility offering relocation support and quarterly bonuses.

Qualifications

3–5+ years of CNC machining experience
Trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent machining education
Blueprint reading
GD&T interpretation
CNC setup experience
Strong understanding of shop math
Experience using precision measuring equipment
Part and tool probing experience
Strong troubleshooting abilities
Positive attitude and dependable attendance

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and machine complex precision components on large CNC equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements
Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding for custom machining applications
Adjust feeds, speeds, offsets, and machining strategies to optimize production
Perform part and tool probing during setup
Verify first‑piece inspections and maintain dimensional accuracy throughout production
Troubleshoot machining issues and make program or offset adjustments as needed
Inspect completed work using precision measuring equipment
Work closely with engineering, quality, and fellow machinists to produce complex parts safely and efficiently
