Job summary

Prince Industries is seeking a CNC Machinist - Set Up Operator to join our team near Chicago. This role will report to the Production Manager and operate CNC milling machines to machine metallic and non-metallic workpieces, performing setup, alignment, and run tasks.

The candidate should have strong ability to read GD&T blueprints, adjust offsets, verify precision, and perform routine maintenance while meeting production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years CNC setup experience.
• Experience on vertical and horizontal milling setups.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Machine setup, operation and startup; adjust tooling for size accuracy.
• Verify conformance using micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges.
• Secure tooling and workpieces; position fixtures and workholding.
• Adjust offsets, part zero and machine speed/feeds per spec.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance and keep machines clean.
• Load tools and set diameters for cutter radius compensation.
