Job summary

JD Machine is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist for our weekend shift in Ogden, Utah. You'll set up CNC machines to produce close-tolerance parts and read blueprints, GD&T, and specs to maintain quality.

Enjoy a three-day weekend, Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with pay for 40 hours and a 10% shift differential. We offer on-site health and dental insurance, 401(k) matching, and ongoing training in a collaborative, lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Two+ years setting up CNC machines and producing close-tolerance parts.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and inspection techniques.
• Experience machining a variety of materials.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines for production of close-tolerance components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Make fixture, tooling, and process adjustments to maintain quality.

Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: Depending upon experience ($22 for 2 years experience up to $30+, then additional shift differential)

JD Machine is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist for our weekend shift. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who can confidently set up and produce close-tolerance parts while enjoying a consistent three-day workweek.

What You'll Do

• Set up CNC machines for the production of close-tolerance components
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements
• Inspect completed parts using appropriate precision measuring equipment
• Make fixture, tooling, and process adjustments to maintain quality
• Work with a variety of materials and part configurations
• Identify and troubleshoot machining or quality issues
• Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
• Collaborate with team members to meet safety, quality, and production goals
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

What We're Looking For

• At least two years of experience setting up CNC machines and producing close-tolerance parts
• Strong understanding of mechanical inspection techniques
• Working knowledge of GD&T
• Experience machining a variety of materials
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
• Willingness to collaborate and contribute to a team-oriented environment

Weekend Schedule

Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Enjoy a consistent three-day workweek with four days off. The 10% shift differential means you work 36 hours and get paid for 40!
