Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our team in Kent, WA. Your daily work is outdoors, with climbing duties and hands-on tree care to improve health and safety of trees and surrounding areas.

You will climb, prune, and remove trees using safe systems, equipped with professional gear. This permanent, full-time role offers opportunities in a nationwide greenspace stewardship program and a path for career growth.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation and safety courses on hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader as an active member.
• Prune and remove trees safely and skillfully for clients.
• Prune, thinning and removal of deadwood from the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection as needed.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.

Position Overview

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Pay Compensation: $24.00 - $30.00

Job Duties

What You'll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
