Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Experienced Civil Engineer to contribute to airport design and construction projects across North Dakota and South Dakota. The role involves both design work and field oversight during construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, highways, and other civil infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have a design background and a strong interest in airport projects, with minimal travel and relocation supported.

Qualifications

Experienced Civil Engineer

Bismarck, North Dakota; Rapid City, South Dakota

Mead & Hunt is looking for a civil engineer that is interested in working on airport design and construction projects. Candidates do not need to have prior airport project experience and only need to possess a design background and the desire to work on airport projects. This position will include both design and field oversight during construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, highways, roads, and other related civil engineering projects. The engineer will be working on commercial service and general aviation airports throughout North Dakota and South Dakota and serve a key role within the well-established Dakotas aviation team.

This professional will work closely with clients to lead design on regional airport projects during the winter months, with summer months also including oversight of construction administration, contractors, and staff in the field. The engineer will work on projects like the runway rehabilitation at the Minot International Airport, a large apron design for the Rapid City Regional Airport, and a taxiway and future runway project for the Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport to improve infrastructure that is vitally important for the communities they serve, keeping this work meaningful and engaging. Minimal travel will be required for this position as most of the projects will be regional to where the person is located, usually within a day trip. Local experience is not required and relocation will be provided for this position.
