Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Jacksonville, FL team. The role involves construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures, forms, scaffolding, and temporary supports.

You will read blueprints, measure, layout, and work with hand and power tools on busy job sites. Must have 3+ years carpentry experience, read drawings, and adhere to safety standards. Ability to work outdoors in varied weather, lift up to 50 pounds, and collaborate with crews on multi-site

• 3+ years of carpentry or related construction experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Proficient in measuring, layout, cutting, and assembling construction materials.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors as required.

Mansioni

• Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and construction requirements.
• Measure, mark, cut, and assemble lumber, plywood, and other materials according to project specifications.
• Construct, install, and brace concrete forms for piers, footings, walls, and other structures.
• Construct and install scaffolding, ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Construct trestles, cofferdams, falsework, temporary shelters, and other temporary structures as required.
• Install door and window bucks, subflooring, sheathing, plaster grounds, and other building components.
• Construct and install wooden supports and other temporary structures used during construction.
• Drill and install epoxy anchors and reinforce steel for equipment installation.
• Assist with the installation of miscellaneous metal components, including stairs, handrails, and platforms.
• Select and safely operate appropriate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Follow company and jobsite safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Provide guidance and assistance to Carpenter Helpers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
