Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking an experienced Border Patrol Agent (BPA) at GL-9/GS-11 levels for full‑time, career employment with significant incentives. Duty locations span multiple sectors and include prioritized postings with relocation options.

The role offers base pay, locality pay, and up to $60,000 in total incentives as part of the package. Applicants must meet the qualifications for GL-9 or GS-11, and training at the Border Patrol Academy is provided.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GL-9/GS-11 level, performing duties such as searches, apprehension, and evidence gathering.
• Ability to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes with proper authority.
• Proficient use of firearms and preparation of investigative reports.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspect documents.
• Maintain surveillance and apprehend aliens and smugglers using various resources.
• Patrol borders and coastal areas using vehicles, horses, vessels, and off‑road assets.
