Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection invites applications for Border Patrol Agent (BPA) at the Experienced level (GL‑9 / GS‑11). The role offers base pay, location pay, and incentives with stability in a premier federal agency protecting U.S.

borders. Eligible candidates may receive up to $60,000 in additional incentives and relocation may be required. Duty locations include multiple sectors nationwide with comprehensive benefits and career stability.

Qualifications

• GL‑9 requires 1 year of specialized experience.
• GS‑11 requires 1 year of specialized experience with authority to enforce laws.
• Proficient use of firearms and preparing investigative reports.

Responsibilities

• Detect immigration and customs violations and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers using surveillance and equipment.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry.
• Perform farm/building/traffic checks and patrol.
• Patrol international boundaries using various assets.
