Job summary

CarMax in West Point, VA is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and performance standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a modern, climate-controlled facility designed for efficiency and comfort.

We provide ongoing training, advanced tools, and opportunities for growth, plus a sign-on bonus for external candidates. The hourly rate ranges from $23.28 to $41.94, with a benefits program that includes paid time off.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and ASE certifications where required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax’s high standards for quality and safety
• Collaborate with a skilled team to solve technical challenges quickly and effectively
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles
